Spring is in the air!

Well actually it isn’t quite yet, as I write looking out over the River Dordogne it is all a bit grey and wet. Still the winemakers will be happy to get rain at this time of year and if history is anything to go by a wet winter is a forerunner to a blazing hot and sunny summer!

Unfortunately if you are looking to visit us in August you are out of luck as we are fully booked. We still have some availability in early July and, on the subject of this blog, Spring is a lovely time to visit. The weather is glorious (it is our favourite time of year), flights are cheap and the villa is available from just €220 per night.

Easter falls on the first weekend of April which is usually when the weather is warming up to the mid-20’s so perfect for bike rides through the vines or taking a Segway tour around Bordeaux (it really is much easier than it looks!).

May in France is full of Bank Holidays which means it is packed full of things to do for you whether on tour with friends or “en famille” with the kids. Of special interest is the “Portes Ouvertes” when the chateaux around St Emilion open their doors to everyone. You get to meet the owners, taste their wines and buy at great prices. No set dates yet but it always falls around the 1st May – we will let you know as soon as we have the full details.

Anyway if you have already booked with us we are really looking forward to seeing you and if not get in touch!

Happy New Year

John & Penelope
